Feynman's problem-solving method involves writing down the problem, thinking deeply without new input, and then writing the solution. Thinking works best as a background process where the brain connects information over time. Taking breaks and recording insights helps understanding and sparks new ideas.
Teams face many good ideas but struggle to pick the best ones because each idea comes with strong confidence and stories. To decide well, focus on testing ideas quickly with clear success measures instead of trusting expert narratives or credentials. Make it safe and valued to reject ideas early when data shows they don’t work, so real progress happens.
After years chasing title and scale, the author walked away to buy back time and presence. He now wanders with purpose, doing small, meaningful things that don't scale. Contentment comes from being present with people and moments, not from more success.
